Touching people of all ages and races, with music that is joyous, sad, romantic, mad, groovin, and movin.  J. Ray Carmichael Sr. exemplifies the heart and soul of Motown by showcasing a variety of its artists vocally.  From the Temptations, to Smokey Robinson, to Michael Jackson and Prince, and even Whitney Houston.
Living on the Treasure Coast for the past 12 years, Ray is a regular at several area nightclubs and establishments. He is well known for his voice and song selection.  When Ray shows up it is often announced, “Ray is in the House.” Ray often turns heads when he sings Purple Rain, people start looking for Prince and are amazed at Ray’s ability to sing almost identical to the original artist.
Ray is also recognized for recently winning the “music 4 Life Academy” voice competition held at the Martin County Fair in February 2014. He has also been a finalist in Talent Quest Florida and Treasure Coast Got Talent, along with a variety of local singing competitions.
Originally from Cincinnati  Ohio and then relocated to Eustis Florida at the age of 9, Ray’s love of music and singing began with his 4 brothers and 5 sisters who would have family nights where they would select an artist and give performances as a family for each other and especially for their beloved mom.
Ray continued his musical aspirations thru High School Chorus and Band, where he was a percussionist. And at that point led him to work in a couple of local bands. After High School, Ray joined the Army serving our country for the next 20 years in America and abroad. Still having that musical passion, he continued performing music in bands from Germany, Korea, Minnesota, Kansas, Virginia, and Texas.
And even now after retiring from the Army and moving back to Florida, Ray enjoys singing and entertaining around the Treasure Coast area. So sit back and enjoy a stroll down memory lane with Ray and the great sounds of Motown.

4:30 pm - Gravel Kings/Blue Grass

Playing their respective instruments since they were teenagers, the fellows in Gravel Kings can’t be swayed by auto-tune push buttons or fancy effect pedals. In a world where such vices have become a modern crutch to song writing, Gravel Kings defy props, relying on the roots of music itself and the simple sounds of strings to carry on a more traditional view of folk music.

Zachary Jones (Lead Vocals & Acoustic Guitar), Johnnie Schumacher (Percussion), Joey Johnson (Banjo/Dobro) started Gravel Kings in 2012 as a small new-grass venture with big plans. Bass player, Mike Seniuk parted ways with the band and long time friend James Dickens joined shortly after. The band has quickly moved on to take Florida by storm, playing at the top music festivals and venues across the state. They also gained the attention of the nationally distributed New Times Magazine.

The Fort Pierce, Florida bunch was a stable and confident one from the start. With an entire town of fishermen, cowboys, college students & drunks behind them, the band headed into the studio in February to produce their first self-titled EP. The EP was funded entirely from donations via Kickstarter and local businesses along the Treasure Coast.

In August 2013 Gravel Kings signed on with Decades Records and are currently touring and working on their first full length record, set to be released early next year.
